Add Modebase as a custom connector, then ChatGPT can see the real clothes you own and remember what you tell it, the preferences and notes you mention get saved back to your wardrobe. It runs only when you ask, you approve any change it makes, and setup takes about two minutes.
In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Connectors (called Apps and Connectors in some versions).
Open Advanced and turn on Developer mode. This is what lets you add a custom connector on Plus and Pro.
Choose Add custom connector, paste the connector URL below, then continue.
Sign in through the popup and approve.
Allow the Modebase connector to read AND write. Writing is how it logs what you wear, saves outfits, and remembers your preferences. It confirms before it saves anything, and you can pick “Always allow” so it stops asking every time.
Modebase is connected. Build your wardrobe by dropping photos of your clothes straight into the chat — a plain shot, a mirror selfie, or an outfit photo — and Modebase catalogues each piece for you.
To add your whole wardrobe at once, say “send me a link to add my clothes” and photograph everything from your phone. Then ask what to wear, what to pack, or how to style a piece.

Prefer to be walked through it? Copy the setup prompt and paste it into ChatGPT.
It lives behind Developer mode. Open Settings, then Connectors, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode. It is web-only and needs ChatGPT Plus or Pro.
The outfit came back as a link, not an image?
That’s how it’s meant to work. Your flat-lay opens in Modebase — tap the link to see the look, tweak it, and save or share it. Modebase is where your outfits live, so you can keep playing with them.
It keeps asking permission every time?
Pick “Always allow” when ChatGPT asks, so it can read your wardrobe and save your wears and looks without prompting each time. It still records only what you ask it to.
Your plan won’t let you add a connector?
Custom connectors need ChatGPT Plus or Pro, on the web. The Free and Go plans don’t have Developer mode.
On a Team or Business workspace?
Custom connectors can be restricted on Business, Enterprise or Education accounts. Use a personal Plus or Pro account instead (switch accounts, or sign up with a different email).
Nothing happens when you add it?
Check the Server URL is exactly https://www.modebase.co/api/mcp, then remove the connector and add it again so ChatGPT re-reads it.
