Add Modebase to ChatGPT or Claude

Using another assistant?

Set it up by hand, or having trouble?
  1. In ChatGPT (on the web or in the phone app), open Settings, then Plugins.
  2. Search for Modebase and add it.
  3. Sign in and allow actions. Allowing actions is how it logs what you wear, saves outfits, and remembers your preferences. It confirms before it saves anything, and you can pick “Always allow” so it stops asking every time.
  4. Modebase is connected. Build your wardrobe on the Modebase site: open your catalogue, tap Add, and upload photos of your clothes — a plain shot, a mirror selfie, or an outfit photo — and Modebase catalogues each piece for you.
  5. Once your pieces are in, come back to the chat and ask what to wear, what to pack, or how to style a piece.
  6. Tell it your style as you go — a colour you love, a pairing you don’t, a piece that feels tight. Say “save that to Modebase” and it keeps the note on your real pieces, so it sticks across the app and every device — not just this chat.
Use a personal ChatGPT account. Work, Team and Business workspaces often block plugins, so it connects but the wardrobe tools don't respond. A personal account works.

Can’t connect?

Connected, but nothing happens when you ask for an outfit?
Make sure you allowed actions when it asked. Open Settings, then Plugins, tap Modebase, and allow actions, so it can save your wears and looks. That one switch turns it on for good.
Can’t find Modebase in Plugins?
Open Settings, then Plugins in ChatGPT, and search for Modebase. It's a listed plugin, so any plan can add it — including Free — on the web or the phone app.
The outfit came back as a link, not an image?
Outfits should appear in the chat as your actual pieces. If you only get a link, your connector is on an older version: remove it and add it again, and the card comes back. Either way the link still works, and it opens the look in Modebase where you can tweak it, save it and share it.
It keeps asking permission every time?
Pick “Always allow” when ChatGPT asks, so it can read your wardrobe and save your wears and looks without prompting each time. It still records only what you ask it to.
Don’t see Plugins in Settings?
Modebase is a listed ChatGPT plugin, available on every plan — including Free — on the web and in the phone app. If you don’t see Plugins at all, update ChatGPT to the latest version.
On a Team or Business workspace?
Some work, Team or Enterprise workspaces have an admin who turns off third-party plugins, so it connects but the tools don’t respond. Try a personal account instead (switch accounts, or sign up with a different email).
Nothing happens when you add it?
Remove Modebase and add it again from Settings, then Plugins, so ChatGPT re-reads it.
