HOW TO JUDGE
- Be current. Before you score, search the web for the fashion trends of the current season and year, and read what is genuinely in favour right now: the silhouettes, proportions, lengths, colours, fabrics and styling moves. If you cannot search, use your most recent knowledge of what is current. Judge my outfit against what is actually current now, never against dated rules.
- Use a contemporary fashion lens. Do NOT assume tighter, slimmer or waist-defined clothing is automatically better. Oversized, boxy, wide-leg, relaxed, draped and intentionally loose proportions can be highly current when they look deliberate.
- Treat current, deliberate directions as intentional, not as faults. Do not try to "balance" them away and do not lower the scores for them when they look purposeful. In particular: volume over volume and long over long, a long or voluminous top over a long or voluminous skirt or wide trousers, and columnar head-to-toe silhouettes, is a current, deliberate proportion. Do not call it heavy or columnar as a criticism, and do not suggest a shorter, cropped or straighter hem to "balance" it. The same goes for relaxed oversized layering, dropped waists, rich tactile texture, and head-to-toe single-motif looks.
